Alison’s Six Country Iconic Trip

June 5, 2017 According to AAC's Consultants

Day 30 – The Serengeti…A feast for the Eyes!

AAC Founding Director Alison Nolting enjoying her last days on the Serengeti – The Serengeti has been an incredible feast for the eyes with amazing sightings of the predators and the Great Migration! I am feeling the luckiest person to have experienced this iconic safari. Namiri Plains, Singita Sabora, Singita Mara

Day 25 – Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater

She has now continued to Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater for some incredible game viewing.                   Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.

Day 21-23 – Having the thrill of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Sabyinyo Lodge and Bisate.

Day 20 – AAC Founding Director Alison Nolting in Nairobi, Kenya

Look who shared my morning breakfast at the Giraffe Manor. What fun giving treats to Kelly and her friends!

Day 16 – AAC Founding Director Alison Nolting in Maasai Mara National Reserve.

“Experiencing the hot air balloon ride from Governors Camp in the Mara.  The migration herds of wildebeest should be arriving in late June!”

Day 12-15 – AAC Founding Director Alison Nolting in Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Today was a thrilling day of horseback riding on the Maasai Mara with Ride Kenya. What a wonderful perspective for game viewing. I have loved my stay at Mara Expedition Camp. Built on a bend of the Ntiakitiak River, the 5-tented camp is intimate and exudes style and charm.  Additional nights stayed at Angama Mara, Naibosho and Serian Camps.

Day 08-11 – AAC Founding Director Alison Nolting in Victoria Falls.

Arrived in Victoria Falls and have enjoyed the morning walk with Sylvester as part of the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust at Elephant Camp. Sue Goatley has whizzed me around the sights and sounds of the mighty Zambezi region including Matetsi River Lodge.

Day 06+07 – Alison Nolting’s adventure continues through Botswana’s Moremi Reserve. She shares pictures of the stunning sunrise from Chief’s Camp and the view from Duba Plains.

Day 01-05  – Today we flew deep into the Okavango Delta to dart a white rhino to make safe with security monitoring for anti-poaching.

  • I am Traveling on a rhino conservation trip organized through Safari Pros a team of like-minded safari tour operators
  • It costs $50,000 to relocate a rhino and $7,500 to make safe with security monitoring
  • Thanks to Wilderness Safaris for our Abu Camp stay
  • Map Ives runs the Rhino Conservation Botswana Project so we joined him for rhino dart  operation – resources dependent on vehicles on the ground, the local vet, helicopter horizons to  find them from the air, and staff to pull together the one hour start to finish dart and release
  • Maps’ goal is to establish a reservoir of rhino in 3-4 areas, making the world better one rhino at a time

Alison Nolting has finished her time in scenic Cape Town and has now begun her adventure in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Follow her 6-country iconic journey as we update you on her travels.
